Back to the daily grind

Now that all the festivities have been and gone and I’ve been lucky enough to enjoy two weeks off work, it’s back to the daily grind with a bump (no pun intended!). Don’t get me wrong, I love my job but having managed to successfully get myself out of a routine, at 32 weeks getting back into one isn’t the easiest!

Having said this, I survived the first Monday back! Honestly, it felt like such an achievement when I returned home at 7pm and could finally put my feet up and relax – my day wasn’t half as bad as I’d imagined it was going to be. Actually, getting back into a routine and working for the next five weeks will hopefully do me a favour in keeping me busy during the final leg of my pregnancy.

So what’s the downside? I’m now constantly hungry and it feels like I need to nosh on something every half hour. I’ve been downing the water and might as well move my desk to the toilet, I just don’t know what to do!!

On the plus side at least what I’m eating is healthy, cereal with soya and almond milk, oatcakes, fruit, raw food bars but none of it is doing the trick. Hopefully my standard chicken salad for lunch will help me out!

Some people probably think I’m slightly crazy anyway – each morning I turn up for work with a bag of snacks and some bits for the fridge (yoghurt and babybell for late afternoon). I just figured that if I come armed and ready at least I have something to hand when hunger strikes. Is everyone’s pregnancy like this?

How do you deal with the constant need for munchies? Do you ever feel satisfied?!
